karinaboese > Cowboy Transport
Mon. June 23, 2008 (Day 72)

Listening to Interstate Love Song by STP on Sunday afternoon. I went through last week daily shot folders and I think this one deserves a spot.

Taken last Thursday, on Interstate-10. Another going-home shot.

Answer to dedman's Q:
No enhancement on this one. I only cropped it out from original shot. Those are true colors fresh from the camera. I did something else tho'... you should be able to tell the difference from the original shot.
karinaboese > Act Your Wage
Fri. May 30, 2008 (Day 48)

Everytime I see this Dave Ramsey sign, I always wonder...If these people, who drive expensive cars, really act their wage or not.
karinaboese > 2008CE Cameo
Mon. May 19, 2008 (Day 37)

Went to our friends' house yesterday. We had The Varghese's Maternity Photo Session. I went to use their bathroom & came out giggling to myself. Jen asked me what's going on... I told her, "I want to take a photo of you in the bathroom."

The shape of the bathroom window is beautiful. With her in front of it, it reminds me of my Grandma's cameo pendant.

There's nothing fancy on this shot: Natural light, backlighting, no photoshop (because I don't have it.. LOL!). It just came out from a simple mind.

karinaboese > My Nephew's Belly
Sun. May 4, 2008 (Day 22)

Met up with my brother-in-law & his son today for lunch. We had fun running around in front of the Sugar Land City Hall. Somehow, he loves showing off his belly. Nice pose, Brayden!
karinaboese > Ornamental Millet
Wed. June 4, 2008 (Day 53)

I'm so glad that they decided to 'come back' this year. I planted 2 of them last Fall. Right now, they have these flower plumes resemble cat tails and beautiful dark purple leaves

Terry Hershey Park at Hwy 6 - another going home shot. My life at the office has been very hectic. I need to catch up with the other Smugmugers' shots this weekend!

karinaboese > Got My Eye on You
Wed. July 2, 2008 (Day 81)

Thank YOU for all your uplifting comments on 8 Ball shot (yesterday's DP). Very much appreciate it!

I'm serious, BASICally I was just playing with flash. I meant to try & create another shot to explain how I did it, but it's already almost midnight... again. So I'll try to do that later this week.
Today, I'm a lucky girl. Dave was willing to be my model! YEAH!!!

I touched it up a bit with CS3 but that's his real eye colors. I didn't change that green part... You could see his contact lense on X3L size.

Sorry Steve, this time is done very poorly (cannot get rid the magenta bit on the nose)... but thank you for all your help. I made my first fire!

As per dedmans & kre8ive requests, here's the black & white version. Thank you for your interest on this shot.
karinaboese > Bee(?) on Coreopsis
Tue. May 6, 2008 (Day 24)

This is interesting...for me anyway; I didn't expect to get this kind of effect at all when I shot this. It was 6:45pm when I shot this out in my backyard. My D50 was set to 1/100, f/5.6 at 125mm (35-187mm). I knew the pic wouldn't be as sharp as I wanted because the wind was blowing pretty hard, and the bee just kept moving.

 See this shot before retouched

I think the sepia version looks sharper.

...after readjusting the color, saturation, and shadow - the background looks like a painting to me.

See other shot of this bee, when he (or she?) was digging into the flower on the right side

TomL: I always try to put my "main" subject/object off center. It's kinda my #1 rule on composition. But I know what you mean, I still feel like the bee should be a bit lower. If I did that, then I cut off too much of the stems on the frame. Thank you for the comments tho'! I appreciate it.
