Tue. February 10, 2009 (Day 301)

So... the Spoonman song has been in my head for 3 days now.
I looked for the drum tab to see if I could follow the beat.
Well... the drum tab that I found online,
it has a different format from what I learned in Indonesia.

Sigh... You say tomato, I say tomahto...

Tiny info:
* long exposure 30sec, ISO 125, f/29.
* ceiling light, no flash. Better view it in X2L.
* The fire is real (not a photoshop) - nothing was harmed during the making of this shot.
* I used a long match and ran it along the drum stick to create the fire/flame effect.
* applied lomoeffect on Lightroom.
* click here to see other version of this shot under Alternate Gallery.
* I really miss my drumset now.

Oh...ROCK ON  Micalngelo!!!
Hope you get a great song in your head today!
karinaboese > Prost!
Thu. March 26, 2009 (Day 345)

Went out for dinner at Rudi Lechner tonight.
Started with Spaten, then sausages & cabbage rolls...
Brought home some Apple Struddle...
I just ate it with vanilla ice cream. YUM!

I just wished that I slide the beer glass a bit to the right; to get the best composition.

The Draw Challenge...11/03/08 (Day 203)
The Challenge: Create a photo with your interpretation of the word, "Draw."
The Participants: Kre8ive, John (300m), Bill Pador, jawsnap, Creative Deviance, and myself.
The Result: Draw The Sunset

I had a hard time picking one photo for today.
They're all from the same location,
just have different composition & treatment.
I put the other contenders under my Alternate gallery (click here).

I like this one best; this has much better composition than the others. Even tho' I wished that the sunset gave me more of the 'big star' quality, like on the other shot.

One thing that I don't like about this one, it feels like too much on the post-processing... but I had to do that to bring out the best of the sunset. Oh well...
karinaboese > It is Spring!
Fri. March 20, 2009 (Day 339)

Believe it or not- this is SOOC. I didn't believe it myself.
I'm VERY impressed with this cheap Nikon kit lens.
It's Nikkor 18-55mm AF-S DX 3.5-5.6G ED- came with my D50.
This lens is pretty fast, sharp, and very light! I need to use it more.

Tomorrow is the first day of Spring. Have a great weekend you!

See more Gazania shots under Flowers gallery.

Tiny info:
* SOOC=Straight Out of Camera
karinaboese > Hard Worker or Hardly Working?
Tue. December 2, 2008 (Day 231)

It's Been A Long Day
I'm tired now...

A week off for Thanksgiving really put me in a baaad position.
I can't seem to finish my tasks at the office.

Got home about 8pm tonight...
Managed to talk to Kre8ive for a minute on skype,
then I got back to my colorful spreadsheet.

Tiny info:
* Angel's new toy, "hippo".
* My house still looks pretty plain, no xmas decoration yet.
* This shot was taken w/ my brand new sigma 10-20mm and cropped it a bit.
* No flash.
karinaboese > Christmas Presents
Fri. January 2, 2009 (Day 262)

My lovely hubby gave me this wonderful filing cabinet for Christmas, and I love it!!!
That's exactly what I wanted. It looks very nice & antique.
Oh...the gingerbreadman is Angel's Christmas present from us. She loves it too!!!

Now we will be more organized in the new year!

Have a great weekend you!

PS:
The color in this shot is 'warmer' than the full-shot one (under Alternate Gallery).
Why? This one was shot with no flash- ceiling lights only.

The Plane (or Plain) Challenge...12/01/08 (Day 230)
The Challenge: Create a photo with your interpretation of the word "Plane" (or "Plain").
The Participants: Kre8ive, John (300m), Bill Pador, The Curious Camel, Creative Deviance, Johnloguk, Lady Kate, and myself.
The Result: Flying Low on The Open Plain

This shot was taken on the Capt Bob's Airboat trip.
My birthday surprise from my in-laws.
They took us to a very beautiful area, gorgeous swamp & crystal clear Rainbow River.

More photos of this river trip, go to Florida, USA gallery.
karinaboese >
The Horn Challenge...12/22/08 (Day 251)
The Challenge: Show us your interpretation of the word, "Horn."
The Participants: Kre8ive, John (300m), Bill Pador, The Curious Camel, Creative Deviance, Johnloguk, Lady Kate, MyKey, Trevlan, and myself.
The Result: "My Horn Dog who Hates Me"

Angel never thrilled with the horn.
There is no exception this year.
She still hates it.
I got home late last night,
so I didn't get a chance to play with this challenge as much as I wanted to.
karinaboese > Fruit or Vegetable?
Mon. March 9, 2009 (Day 328)

I think I will to try to shoot fruits/vegetables for this week's self-challenge.
I'm going to see if I can make them look interesting as images.

"Healthy Camera Diet" challenge day 1 of 7.

I didn't know what to call this fruit/veggies challenge.
Hubby came up with the title. Suit me well, dear. Thank you.
