karinaboese > Something about The 8 Ball Tue. July 1, 2008 (Day 80) I've been trying to understand CS3 all night & got very frustrated! It made me want to shoot something REEEAAALLY basic. So I set my camera on the tripod, set it on Bulb (f/22, ISO 200); put the slave unit on S50DX (to be used as a fill in flash - I put this Flash on the corner); used my camera remote to trigger the shot; turned off the overhead light; used SB-600 to trigger the other flash... flashed it (on me) then (did it 3 times) release the shutter... Voila! Need to find out how to make the flashes stronger (to make my twins come out solid), but I think it's good enough for a midnight shot at this moment. Kurt - I'm not a big fan of flash either... but my choices were out to the backyard and get eaten by mosquitos, or play in the house :)
karinaboese > Playing on The Table Sat. November 15, 2008 (Day 215) It's a cool windy day in Houston. We are at 56F right now... I found this little friend out in the garden. He spent quite some time walking on this table. I took a bunch of pictures before it flew away. You can see them under the Animals, Bugs, etc. gallery. Stay warm, friends.
karinaboese > I'm Not Alone Mon. June 8, 2009 (Day 15) Sometimes when you think you're alone, you are not. It's 10:40pm... and I know I'm not alone. Tiny info: * Shot at 30 sec. f/22 - manual. * Off camera flash (SB600) on the pool table, sync with built in camera flash. * Once the SB600 flashed, I started painting with a battery powered flash light. * Added surreal edge effect on Lightroom to make it even weirder. I don't know.. is it really weird?
karinaboese > Fun in The Sun Sun. June 14, 2009 (Day 21) We left Houston about noon and spent a day in Austin, Texas. We took a Cypress Valley canopy zipline then we had supper at Oasis Restaurant up on the hill. Gorgeous view of Lake Travis... but it was one very HOT afternoon indeed! Got home very late... so this is SOOC. I need another Sunday! (SOOC = straight out of camera)
karinaboese > Grandma on The Beach Sun. January 25, 2009 (Day 285) She really loves the beach, and thought she wouldn't see the beach anymore. She lives up north in Canada... When we all were down in Florida, we surprised her & took her to Daytona beach. She walked barefeet, touched the water, and really enjoyed the view... and she survived 4 hours drive! Today is one day before her 90th birthday. Happy birthday, Grandma! ps: She didn't know that I took this pic. This shot was taken after she touched the water and walked back to where we stood (dry spot). I didn't know that she was smiling until I downloaded this file on the computer.
karinaboese > FINALLY FALL! Sun. October 26, 2008 (DAY 195) Taken by Pipie Djalil We had a very long day today. Started at 8:30am... Today was FREAKING AWESOME day!!! Gorgeous day, plenty of sunshines & wind. We visited the outside of White House, then walked to WWII Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and Washington Monument. I asked Pipie to take a photo of me, under this gorgeous red maple tree. We had hotdog for lunch at the park, then took a metro at Smithsonian down to Alexandria. More photos will be uploaded at Washington Gallery. I need to pack tonight... Houston, I'll be home tomorrow!!!
