karinaboese > Swoon Sun. September 27, 2009 (Day 126) We went to see the Strange Fruit performance again today. They performed Swoon this time. I think it was worth suffering for 30 minutes under the full blast of the hot Houston sun! See more shots under Strange Fruit in Houston Gallery. The sky was so blue and the lighting was perfect for taking outdoor pictures. I still can feel the heat underneath my skin... even after 8 hours.
karinaboese > My Little Tornado Fri. July 18, 2008 (Day 96) Okay... I have enough with this experiment tonight. If you click on the links below, you'll see what I mean. The whole idea was to get the letter "B" on the cork on the right position when it hits the water. What I did tonight: * Followed John Murphys' info comment on Flash * Set the ISO to 1/250 & dark background as per Banjon's comment * Inserted 2 screws in the cork for more weight for bigger splash as per Mspenser's comment * 100% water is better than wasting beer as per Johnloguk's comment * I used red wine since it was the red wine's Bogle cork as per rtimko's comment (but then I couldn't see the cork - LOL!!!) * I put the 2nd flash with slave unit as fill-in from the left side of the frame as per Sunita's comments. It created a nice star! After all... I got that "B" upside down!!! Well, at least I got a tiny splash & bubbles, no other post-processing except cropping. I'm happy with that. Tomorrow, I'll have to take a very simple shot... maybe another sponge shot! I can't THANK YOU enough to all of you who gave me GREAT suggestions/comments. I learned a lot in the past 2 days. Thank you so much! Note re. Hershy Q: I had to toss the rest of the red wine. The taste was horrible!

We cleaned up the garage, putting up Christmas decor, and managed to stop by at my brother-in-law's new house. There is this climbing vine with big red flowers on side wall. I had no clue what it was... Johnloguk is RIGHT! It is Passion flower. I updated the caption already. Thanks John!
