karinaboese > Last Breath of Gladiols
Mon. December 7, 2009 (Day 196)

Another day, another SOOC.

I found the last blooming gladiols after the snow day in H town.
I'm not sure how long it is going to stay like this.
My days have been pretty crazy with work & try to prepare the house for Christmas.
Phew... hopefully everything will be done before this weekend.
karinaboese > Hibiscus Stigmas
Fri. October 30, 2009 (Day 159)

Gorgeous day in H town today!
It's a little bit too cold for my taste (high 68F) but we had a pretty afternoon.
Close up lenses are still attached on my camera, so I managed to get this shot in my garden.
Yes... everything is still green here & plenty of colors from the flowers.

Enjoy your weekend!
karinaboese > Wild Flower
Thu. October 29, 2009 (Day 158)
Taken 10/27/09

"On the first part of the journey, I was looking at all the life
There were plants and birds and rocks and things.."
- America, A Horse With No Name -

Crazy rain & thunderstorm that we have in Houston today.
Didn't get a chance to take any picture at all, so I'm using one from 2 days ago.

Tiny info:
* D90 + 18-105mm + 3 close up HOYA lens (+1, +2, +4).
* This weed is as tiny as my thumb.
karinaboese > Berries in Fall
Tue. October 27, 2009 (Day 156)

Finally I have good looking redish fall color in my backyard! YAY!

Tiny info:
*  D90 + 18-105mm + 3 close up HOYA lens (+1, +2, +4).
* added contrast on LR - that's it on pp.

P.S.:
Thank you for all your comments on my butterfly shot. I appreciate all the kind words.
Very uplifting for sure!
karinaboese > Milkweed Congregation
Sun. October 18, 2009 (Day 147)

I was looking for something orange in the garden.
Something that represents Fall in Houston.
I shot some orange berries but then I found this...
Bunch of orange bugs under hibiscus flowers!

Ugh! Where are those hungry birds?!?

Tiny info:
* D50 + 50mm + Close up lens.
* Not much pp - only added a little bit of contrast & saturation.
* Hard to get a sharp focus on the bug with close up lens when it's windy outside.
karinaboese > On The Edge
Wed. September 30, 2009 (Day 129)

I went to the Orthopedic Doctor this afternoon to check my legs.
Nothing serious... but sometimes I wished I had extra legs like spiders.
So I can used them for spare!

Umm... naa, I take that back. I just want my current two legs free of problems.
karinaboese > Let There'll be Solar Light
Fri. July 24, 2009 (Day 61)

I finally found a cheap but good enough solar light.
Ah- it's almost weekend! Happy Friday to all of you!
karinaboese > Weeding
Thu. July 16, 2009 (Day 53)

I've been busy in the garden for the past 3 days.
Clean up the garden beds, that is.
You know... if you want to get rid of weed,
you really need to get to their roots!

Tiny info:
*  50mm Nikkor (fixed) - f/1.8
---One of my favorite lens!
karinaboese > Color Punch
Tue. July 14, 2009 (Day 51)

I decided to put more 'punch' on the patio furniture.
Red pillow! How can it go wrong!?!

"Red red ... Stay close to me,
Don't let me be alone, it's tearing apart,
My blue, blue heart..."
