Wed. April 15, 2009 (Day 365!!!)

TODAY is my 365th daily photo and I'm jumping for joy! Hooooray!!

My last tiny info:
* Taken at least 30 shots to get this 'right' (focus, exposure, height of the jump).
* Not the best composition, but I'm OK with it.
* Forgot to bring paper & big marker, so I used napkin & red lipstick to write 365.
* Wind blew the napkin many times, finally used the lens cap & tucked the corners under some weeds.

It has been awesome learning from you & your shots.

I've been having a lot of fun & it is a great pleasure to share it with you.

Tiny info:
* Long exposure f/22 - 30sec. Aperture priority, no tripod (camera sat on the table).
* Black curtain on the background; a piece of torn paper taped on the curtain.

* Added a bit of higher contrast on LR- that's it.

The word "photography" comes from the Greek φώς (phos) "light" + γραφίς (graphis) "stylus", "paintbrush" or γραφή (graphê) "representation by means of lines" or "drawing", together meaning "drawing with light."

I never really tried drawing light in front of my camera... until tonight.
I did another image overlay w/ this shot on my Nikon D90 with another image of my hubby in Galveston after Hurricane Ike- see it under Alternative gallery.

Tiny info:
* I used big flash light to 'draw' the light.
* It's messy but oh well... it's my first time.

Sun. April 12, 2009 (Day 362)

We went to my brother-in-law's house for Easter dinner.
He cooked a wonderful ham and green bean casserole.
Chocolate mint ice cream cake for desert,
then we played 'Chubby Bunny' after we finished dinner.
My hubby is the 'King of Chubby Bunny' tonight.
He got more than 12 bunnies... and I only got to 3!!

We went to Huntsville State Park this afternoon.
We took the Cinquapin trail & walked all the way in 3 hours.

On the way back to Houston, we stopped by at the side of the highway.
Enjoying the Bluebonnets.... the Texas wildflower.

* Used red color paper to cover # 4.

* I really like the B&W version but decided to use this warm tone one on a cold day.

We had a busy Sunday... start from buying a new washing machine,
then at the end of the day, hubby finished replacing 2 sections of fence that needed make over.

I wished Monday is the second Sunday.

We went to Galveston Island in the afternoon & had lunch at the Fisherman's Wharf.
Jonathan Wood & The Raptor Project sponsored by Nikon were on The Strand.
This American Bald Eagle was one of them.

I will start the countdown to day 365 tomorrow.

We went to see the new born baby of one of my managers.
Baby Kennedy is 2 days old. She has the pinkiest baby lips that I've ever seen.
... and I like chubby hands of a baby!

Tiny info:
* Taken w/ 50mm at f/1.8 - no flash.
* ISO 2200 - that should explains the noise.
* added soft & vignette on LR to reduce the grainy look.
