The Story of My Assassin
Mon. August 30, 2010 (Day 92)
It's a busy day at the office, so here's another macro shot from weekend.
I have a lot of these guys out in my garden. The great things are except their bright orange summer color; they are very effective and abundant insect predators. They eat aphids, armyworms, stink bugs, houseflies, etc.
Milkweed Assassin Bugs are active through the winter season in Galveston-Houston region. Other common name: the Masked Hunter Assassin Bug, the Spined Assassin Bug, or Zelus longipes.
